Guide to Stone Mountain (2024)

Home to Georgia's most-visited attraction, the city of Stone Mountain is full of things to do, places to stay and great restaurants. It’s also home to the quarry that supplied granite to the locks of the Panama Canal and the steps of the U.S. Capitol.

What started in the 1800s when European settlers made their homes on former Creek Tribe lands became a stagecoach hub centered around the massive mountain. It quickly became a tourist attraction and has blossomed into the Stone Mountain of today.
